How Good Can A Sub Be?

We've all had a sub. There's a sandwich shop on every corner...they're all good. About as good as a sub sandwhich can be. I mean, come on. Nothing against any of those businesses, they've all gotten their share of my paychecks over the years, so I'd be lying if I said I didn't frequent them. I've even bought the ingredients at the store to make my own hoagies at home, hoping to perfect the craft. To no avail. At the end of the day, they're still just subs. Bread, meat, veggies, and mayo (I like mayo on mine.)

"You ever tried that little The Sub Shop over there?" I would hear people say, as we would drive down Glenstone avenue in Springfield sometimes. It's hidden, and if you blink, you would definitely miss it, since it's so small. I'll get around to it, I thought. After all, it's a sub shop- how good can they be? "It's only open for lunch, and they only take cash, but it's the best sub you'll ever have," they'd say.

So, I had some time one day, and I decided to stop in and see what the fuss was all about.

In the famous words of George Michael; "I'm never gonna dance again!"

This little shop has cracked some kind of code when it comes to making the perfect sub sandwich. I don't know how I've lived in Springfield for 14 years and not tried this place out yet, but it's a total injustice! I made it my mission that day to make sure more people in the area knew about this little locally owned sub dive, and encourage them to give them a try. From the fresh-baked-daily, melt-in-your-mouth bread, to the special oil and vinegar sauce and thinly sliced meats, I have to say it's definitely the best I have ever had (and I have tried just about all of them.)

So, if you're in the Springfield, Missouri area for lunch, stop by and try The Sub Shop on Seminole, and say hi to the owner, Ethan (pictured). I promise, you will not be disappointed!
